The Egyptian Book of the Dead (2006)

This incredible documentary tells the story behind the oldest surviving document of Western civilisation. The Papyrus of Ani, which is thought to date back to 1800BC, is the largest and most beautiful of all the Egyptian funery scrolls. Known widely as the ‘Book of the Dead’, it is an astounding collection of the writings that were placed in tombs as a means of guiding the ancient Egyptian soul on its journey to the afterlife.
